In the video Doug McKenzie – Collingwood Elvis Festival 2015, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a group of hysterical Canadian family members who starred in “Great White North”, a ad lib skit which was featured on second city television for the show’s most watched season when it was aired on the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in in the early 80s. Bob’s character is performed by comic Rick Moranis and Doug is brought to life by comic Dave Thomas. It was brought to life originally as filler to both satisfy and makes jokes about network Canadian content statutes, the brothers morphed into a pop culture hit in both Canada and across the border. The McKenzie siblings later became the focus of a bestselling comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
