Bob and Doug McKenzie in Down On Skid Row
In the video Down On Skid Row, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a couple of fictional Canadian siblings who created “Great White North”, a improv which was included on SCTV for the show’s 3rd season when it was featured on the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the 1980s. Bob is created by hilarious comedian Rick Moranis and Doug’s part is created by Dave Thomas. Despite made originally as a sketch to both please and make fun of non sensical Canadian content guidelines, the siblings became a pop culture success in both Canada and the USA. The characters soon became the focus of a huge comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
