Bob and Doug McKenzie in Drowning in beer

In the video Drowning in beer, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a couple of hysterical Canadian actors who were featured in “Great White North”, a improv which was included on SCTV for the show’s 3rd season when it got sent to CBC Television in in the early 80s. Bob McKenzie is created by comedian Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie is played by Dave Thomas. Regardless the fact it was created originally as an idea to both follow guidelines and laugh at stupid Canadian content rules, the duo transformed into a pop culture hit in both Canada and the USA. The brothers became the focus of a hit comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
