In the video Elton John – Rocket Man (Cover), Bob and Doug McKenzie are a pair of strange Canadian comedians who starred in “Great White North”, a skit which was introduced on second city television for the show’s 3rd season when it aired by CBC Television in . Bob’s character is created by hilarious comedian Rick Moranis and Doug’s character is played by comic Dave Thomas. Which was developed originally as a skit to both please and makes jokes about stupid Canadian content demands, the pair morphed into a pop culture hit in both Canada and the USA. The pair became the focus of a hit comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
