In the video Enjoy The Silence – Cover by Dave Thomas O’Gorman, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a group of made up Canadian brothers who can been seen in “Great White North”, a program which was shown on SCTV for the show’s most popular season when it got sold to the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the year 1980. The character Bob McKenzie is performed by comedian Rick Moranis and Doug is brought to life by actor Dave Thomas. The sketch was born originally as an idea to both please and makes jokes about stupid Canadian content guidelines, the pair became a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the USA. The characters enetually would become the focus of a bestselling comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
