Bob and Doug McKenzie in Escalation Strange Brew

In the video Escalation Strange Brew, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a pair of hilarious Canadian family members who were featured in “Great White North”, a ad lib skit which was shown on second city television for the show’s most liked season when it got sent to CBC Television in the eighties. Bob’s character is created by comedian Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie’s part is brought to life by actor Dave Thomas. Regardless the fact it was born originally as a sketch to both follow guidelines and laugh at non sensical Canadian content guidelines, the pair transformed into a pop culture smash hit in both Canada and the United States. The two went on to become the focus of a huge comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
