In the video Eugene Levy and Rick Moranis #ghostbusters2, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a pair of hilarious Canadian family members who were featured in “Great White North”, a improv which was shown on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most popular season when it braodcast by the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in in the early 80s. Bob’s character is brought to life by Rick Moranis and Doug is performed by the comedian Dave Thomas. The sketch was born originally as a skit to both please and laugh about network Canadian content rules, the two morphed into a pop culture smash hit in both Canada and the US. The McKenzie siblings enetually would become the focus of a an amazing comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
