Bob’s part is acted by Rick Moranis and Doug’s character is performed by actor Dave Thomas. Despite born originally as a joke to both satisfy and laugh about non sensical Canadian content statutes, the duo morphed into a pop culture sensation in both Canada and the USA. The McKenzie siblings soon became the focus of a huge comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
