Bob and Doug McKenzie in Famous Graves – Visiting the Famous Gravesites of Bob Evans and Dave Thomas
In the video Famous Graves – Visiting the Famous Gravesites of Bob Evans and Dave Thomas, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of hysterical Canadian brothers who created “Great White North”, a sketch which was televised on SCTV – second city television for the show’s 3rd season when it braodcast by CBC Television in the 1980s. Bob’s character is brought to life by hilarious comedian Rick Moranis and Doug is created by the comedian Dave Thomas. Although developed originally as filler to both follow guidelines and make fun of stupid Canadian content legislation, the brothers grew up to be a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the US. The McKenzie siblings later became the focus of a an amazing comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
Update: Dave Thomas passed in 2002, I made a mistake and said 2003.
Today on Whittdocs Famous Graves, we are taking a small tour of famous gravesites of pioneers within the restaurant business. Both of the men founded restaurants that are still very popular to this day.

We have a lot of Wendy's here in Washington state, but none of Bob Evans' restaurants.
That was interesting I haven't ate yet at Bob Evans restaurant.. but I'm going to.
I didn't know about Bob Evans' restaurants, but I've seen a lot of his microwaveable foods in the grocery stores, like mashed potatoes, macaroni & cheese, etc. I've even eaten them a couple of times. Now, Dave Thomas is another story, I guess mainly because of his TV ads. I do eat at Wendy's often enough to call myself a fan. I'm also a fast-food junkie. lol I always enjoy your background info.
Great men who had a vision and not only fed us but also employed thousands of people.
Is not Dave founder of wendy's which he named after his daughter

What a nice cemetery overlooking the lake. I've never heard of the first guy (must not be in California), but we sure have a lot of Wendy's here. I thought Thomas was buried here. I guess I was thinking of Carl Karcher. Excellent, as always!
IM a native of kenosha, Wisconsin 🙂
Nice video. I’m afraid the closest Bob Evans restaurant is 50 miles away from me! I’ll try to check it out.
From Shelbyville, TN here!
You should do a second video if this because there are many other dead restaurant icons who need to be honored by you. I’m from Vermont by the way

Thank you for this video.
There’s a Wendy’s and a Bob Evans within 1/2 mile of each other in my town, Branson, MO.
Always enjoy your videos. Always interesting and informative. I have to say this one got me thinking about food.
Great video. Always interesting. Dave Thomas died in 2002, not 2003.. on his plaque.

Wow … Bob Evans grave location has a breathtaking view. Very nice! Wasnt their advertising something like "Bob Evans down on the farm"?
I remember the Wendy's ads with Dave Thomas in them.
Forgot to mention this before but the music you use in the background is very nice.
Thanks Whittdocs!
I really enjoy how you cover so many different kinds of people. It is kind of refreshing not knowing if it will be sports related, maybe a icon of sorts, wild west or who knows. I think its fun the surprise. Keep up the good work.
Another master piece, plz keep up the great work. Love these videos
Nice tribute to these gentlemen. Wendy's is also very popular in Canada and I remember the commercials of Dave Thomas. Thanks for what you do.
