Bob is acted by hilarious comedian Rick Moranis and the character Doug is played by the comedian Dave Thomas. Regardless the fact it was made originally as fluff to both please and laugh about silly Canadian content rules, the brothers transformed into a pop culture success in both Canada and the US. The McKenzie brothers went on to become the focus of a famous comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
