The character Bob McKenzie is brought to life by actor Rick Moranis and Doug’s part is played by the comedian Dave Thomas. Although created originally as a sketch to both fulfill and make fun of non sensical Canadian content guidelines, the characters transformed into a pop culture sensation in both Canada and the States. The McKenzie siblings became the focus of a huge comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
