  1. Side note, still deeply heterosexual, he looked back in the 70’s when I as a kid watched a lot of English football very much like the cool, handsome English type of guy, and he now looks like the handsome older English gentleman. Someone give him a tweed jacket and a pipe.

  2. Lovely video. I see Dave regular along with Brenda, Hanna & Sparky. An inspirational man with a positive outlook. Would like to think he got more than “Cheers Dave” in a letter after selflessly raising £100k for Guide Dogs.

  3. This was such a lovely video to watch, thank you. Mr Thomas was my coach back at school and great football inspiration to me and my school mates. So great to here is voice and see him doing so well. Please pass on my good wishes, I doubt he would remember me but if he does I went by Charlie on the pitch a wore a headband. A classic Mr Thomas qoute was “the ball will always travel quicker then the player” how right he is…

  4. I remember you Dave when u lived in our street in wokingham many moons ago. You was always out cutting ur lawn then and us kids would cycle around you, just so we could see and speak to you. I do rember Phill parks lived in wokingham too. I lived now for 30 years in west dorset. But I remember what a really nice man you were then to all us kids and nothing was too much trouble. It great when people get disability and adapt. Bless you Dave Mr nice man xxx

  5. Dave, You have a beautiful garden there. It must be a true pleasure to walk and work it everyday. Not only were you a brilliant footballer and a legend to all QPR fans but you are a truly inspirational person….long may your journey continue and God bless !

  6. Comes across as a lovely man. My dad used to watch dave playing for qpr in the 70s and tells me what a great side that was. I've read daves autobiography and it's a wonderful story. As a qpr fan it's made it a bit more emotional but I'm glad to see dave still enjoying life. All the best dave.

  7. Lovely video of a lovely man and what a beautiful home he has.
I hope you are in contact with Dave and you can pass this on….one of my lifelong friends is Gary Locke former Chelsea right back. He is a very private person and doesn’t do social media . He was saddened to hear this news and told me that Dave Thomas was one of his most difficult opponents, so quick and direct, a top player..God bless.

  8. I love this video. Hearing someone’s personal journey and how much independence and freedom they have from having a guide dog is truly incredible. This really is a fantastic video so well done to everyone involved and especially to you Dave for sharing your story. :-).
