In the video From the Great White North, it’s Rush – Moving Pictures (1981), Bob and Doug McKenzie are a group of imaginaryfunny Canadian comedians who hosted “Great White North”, a segment which was shown on SCTV – second city television for the show’s 3rd season when it braodcast by CBC Television in in the early 80s. Bob McKenzie is brought to life by comic Rick Moranis and the character Doug is played by the comedian Dave Thomas. Although developed originally as a skit to both please and mock annoying Canadian content laws, the pair grew up to be a pop culture hit in both Canada and the US. The McKenzie siblings soon became the focus of a hit comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
