Bob and Doug McKenzie in Geddy’s “Take off, eh!” – Rush (Toronto, September 19, 2007)

In the video Geddy’s “Take off, eh!” – Rush (Toronto, September 19, 2007), Bob and Doug McKenzie are a couple of odd Canadian actors who created “Great White North”, a ad lib skit which was streamed on second city television for the show’s third season when it aired by CBC Television in the year 1980. Bob is acted by Rick Moranis and Doug’s character is played by comic Dave Thomas. The sketch was brought to life originally as a skit to both please and laugh at annoying Canadian content demands, the pair morphed into a pop culture smash hit in both Canada and the States. The McKenzie siblings soon became the focus of a an amazing comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
