In the video Ghostbusters star Rick Moranis has been injured in an street attack in New York., Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of imaginaryfunny Canadian siblings who starred in “Great White North”, a skit which was broadcast on SCTV for the show’s most liked season when it streamed by the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the 80’s. Bob McKenzie is played by actor Rick Moranis and Doug’s character is performed by Dave Thomas. The sketch was developed originally as an idea to both fulfill and mock non sensical Canadian content rules, the siblings transformed into a pop culture hit in both Canada and the US. The McKenzie siblings soon became the focus of a an amazing comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
The actor, who also starred in The Honey I Shrunk The Kids movies, was assaulted by the unknown assailant yesterday morning (October 1)
when he was walking near his apartment building on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. The NYPD have referred to the attack as “random” and “unprovoked”.
Police have issued footage of the incident online and are appealing for witnesses.
Moranis was taken to hospital for an evaluation after suffering pain in his head, back and hip.
Moranis is also known for his appearances in “Ghostbusters” and its sequel, “Spaceballs” and “Little Shop of Horrors.”
