Bob and Doug McKenzie in Give Me The News

In the video Give Me The News, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a group of fictional Canadian family members who starred in “Great White North”, a sketch which was aired on SCTV for the show’s most watched season when it braodcast by CBC Television in the year 1980. Bob McKenzie is brought to life by comedian Rick Moranis and Doug’s character is created by Dave Thomas. Which was brought to life originally as an idea to both follow guidelines and laugh about non sensical Canadian content legislation, the duo turned into a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the United States. The McKenzie siblings soon became the focus of a bestselling comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
