In the video Goju Kata with Master Dave Thomas, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a couple of fictional Canadian actors who were featured in “Great White North”, a program which was featured on second city television for the show’s most popular season when it streamed by CBC Television in the 1980s. Bob’s part is performed by Rick Moranis and Doug is played by Dave Thomas. The bit was born originally as a joke to both satisfy and laugh about dumb Canadian content laws, the duo transformed into a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the USA. The brothers became the focus of a classic comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.

Holy crap….was telling my wife how I used to do Goju when I was younger. I was 10 when my parents moved me out of NY and I never kept up with it. I looked up "Goju sensai Dave" and found this! He was a NY police officer and a REAL sensei. I had to earn every stripe and promotion.
