Bob and Doug McKenzie in Gone South – Dave Thomas – SCTV and Harold Ramis

In the video Gone South – Dave Thomas – SCTV and Harold Ramis, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a group of made up Canadian actors who hosted “Great White North”, a show which was aired on SCTV for the show’s 3rd season when it was aired on the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in in the early 80s. Bob’s partThe character Bob is brought to life by comedian Rick Moranis and Doug’s part is performed by comic Dave Thomas. Which was brought to life originally as a joke to both follow guidelines and make fun of annoying Canadian content legislation, the brothers turned into a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the US. The two soon became the focus of a huge comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
