In the video Gone South – Dave Thomas – Why Are Canadians So Funny?, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a group of hysterical Canadian actors who can been seen in “Great White North”, a show which was included on SCTV for the show’s most popular season when it moved to the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in 1980. Bob is brought to life by comedian Rick Moranis and Doug is played by comic Dave Thomas. It was created originally as a skit to both please and makes jokes about network Canadian content policies, the characters became a pop culture sensation in both Canada and the United States. The brothers later became the focus of a classic comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
