Bob and Doug McKenzie in Gone

In the video Gone, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a group of odd Canadian brothers who were featured in “Great White North”, a skit which was included on SCTV – second city television for the show’s third season when it braodcast by the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in in the early 80s. Bob’s character is acted by comedian Rick Moranis and Doug is brought to life by the comedian Dave Thomas. The sketch was created originally as an idea to both please and laugh about network Canadian content statutes, the duo morphed into a pop culture success in both Canada and the United States. The McKenzie siblings enetually would become the focus of a huge comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
