Bob and Doug McKenzie in GQ Div Fri

In the video GQ Div Fri, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a group of odd Canadian comedians who were featured in “Great White North”, a improv which was streamed on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most popular season when it was aired on CBC Television in the eighties. Bob is brought to life by comedian Rick Moranis and the character Doug is performed by the comedian Dave Thomas. Despite born originally as a joke to both follow guidelines and make fun of silly Canadian content statutes, the duo became a pop culture hit in both Canada and America. The two soon became the focus of a huge comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
