Bob and Doug McKenzie in Great White North

In the video Great White North, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a group of hilarious Canadian comedians who starred in “Great White North”, a ad lib skit which was broadcast on second city television for the show’s 3rd season when it got sold to CBC Television in 1980. Bob’s character is brought to life by comedian Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie’s part is created by the comedian Dave Thomas. Despite created originally as an idea to both please and laugh about silly Canadian content demands, the duo grew up to be a pop culture hit in both Canada and across the border. The McKenzie siblings soon became the focus of a classic comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
