Bob and Doug McKenzie in Great White North

In the video Great White North, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of hilarious Canadian comedians who are responsible for “Great White North”, a ad lib skit which was televised on SCTV – second city television for the show’s 3rd season when it braodcast by CBC Television in the 1980s. Bob’s character is performed by Rick Moranis and Doug is brought to life by comic Dave Thomas. It was brought to life originally as a skit to both satisfy and make fun of legal Canadian content demands, the characters grew up to be a pop culture hit in both Canada and across the border. The two became the focus of a famous comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
