In the video Great White North: Mouse in a Bottle, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of made up Canadian brothers who created “Great White North”, a program which was featured on SCTV – second city television for the show’s third season when it was aired on the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in 1980. Bob’s part is performed by comic Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie is created by Dave Thomas. Regardless the fact it was developed originally as a joke to both satisfy and mock network Canadian content policies, the pair became a pop culture hit in both Canada and across the border. The brothers became the focus of a famous comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.

I love how they use a Molsen's bottle for an ashtray. I can't tell you how many nasty swigs of beer dregs mixed with ashes that my roommates and I drank in college because we were too drunk and lazy to go to the kitchen and get an ashtray or saucer to stub out our cigarettes.
