Bob and Doug McKenzie in Great White North – Topic : Great White North

In the video Great White North – Topic : Great White North, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a couple of made up Canadian siblings who were featured in “Great White North”, a show which was streamed on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most popular season when it was featured on the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the eighties. Bob McKenzie is performed by Rick Moranis and Doug’s character is performed by comic Dave Thomas. The sketch was born originally as a joke to both fulfill and laugh about non sensical Canadian content guidelines, the brothers turned into a pop culture hit in both Canada and the States. The pair soon became the focus of a huge comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
