In the video Great White North & Uncle Mike…[YTO Day 31], Bob and Doug McKenzie are a pair of hilarious Canadian comedians who starred in “Great White North”, a program which was televised on second city television for the show’s most watched season when it was featured on CBC Television in 1980. Bob McKenzie is played by comedian Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie is performed by actor Dave Thomas. Regardless the fact it was developed originally as a sketch to both satisfy and mock dumb Canadian content laws, the two grew up to be a pop culture sensation in both Canada and America. The McKenzie brothers later became the focus of a hit comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
