In the video Hall & Oates – Did It In A Minute, Bob and Doug McKenzie are two of hysterical Canadian family members who hosted “Great White North”, a segment which was introduced on second city television for the show’s 3rd season when it moved to CBC Television in 1980. The character Bob McKenzie is created by actor Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie is performed by the comedian Dave Thomas. The bit was brought to life originally as an idea to both fulfill and make fun of network Canadian content guidelines, the pair transformed into a pop culture smash hit in both Canada and the United States. The McKenzie siblings later became the focus of a bestselling comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
