I loved SCTV; do not remember this one. Thanks for sharing.
Eugene Levy is such a great actor and incredibly funny. Did so good together with John Candy. Schmenges!
Great performance.
I used to always be sad when your concerts were over, wondering when the next one would be.
Lip syncing
Cool Sammy had a knack for bringng out the best. So much cooler and raw than studio version. I love how they stretch the guitar and keys out at the beginning.
Pats parents probably born pre 1910!
Love this!!!
GE SMITH!!!
This could have been an ABBA beat as well I just realized!
I remember this performance well..seen this on the premiere of sctv…many great performers made their mark here.
what ever happened to the keyboard guy that made this video?! Fantastic!
Wow. The whole band plays left handed!
Great version but I don't think it's live.
I loved "SCTV"!! Long live the '80s!!
GREAT VERSION!!!!!!!!!!!
Pop perfection meets comedy gold. Nice touch leaving the Norwich Union ad in there too. "It's Patrick, he took out life insurance. Good for you son."
GE Smith could play that guitar!
haha Eugene Levy
excellent live here
Thanks for posting! There was a drum machine or hand clap track riff- did this come from the keyboard (a Sequential Circuits Prophet 5 or 10, I'm not sure which yet- the 10 is dual manual), or was this from a drum machine?
@smoothandcool60: That's Charlie DeChant, essential to Hall and Oates' work, and a lot of fun in performance. I've seen the band 4 times (complaining, not bragging- I need to get out more!)- and Charlie has his little moves and surprises every time. He's a fine singer and of course, sax and Lyricon player. ( A Lyricon is a saxophone synthesizer system- played by Tom Scott, I believe- in "She's Gone".)
'Do you have that one SCTV ident-bumper with the really trippy space-synth??
Been trying to find that for the longest time'
***I was gonna post the above request, but then thought: 'hey let me watch the rest of this and maybe it'll just pop up… Lo and Behold- at 5:02! Thanks a bunch!
