In the video Happy Birthday Rick Moranis, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of made up Canadian actors who were featured in “Great White North”, a program which was featured on SCTV for the show’s most popular season when it was featured on the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the eighties. Bob’s part is brought to life by comic Rick Moranis and Doug’s character is brought to life by the comedian Dave Thomas. Even thoughFamously brought to life originally as a sketch to both satisfy and mock non sensical Canadian content demands, the two morphed into a pop culture smash hit in both Canada and the USA. The brothers soon became the focus of a classic comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
