In the video Happy Birthday Rick Moranis!, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a pair of hilarious Canadian actors who created “Great White North”, a show which was shown on SCTV for the show’s most popular season when it braodcast by the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the 80’s. The character Bob McKenzie is performed by Rick Moranis and Doug’s character is performed by the comedian Dave Thomas. The sketch was created originally as a joke to both follow guidelines and makes jokes about stupid Canadian content demands, the siblings turned into a pop culture success in both Canada and the States. The McKenzie siblings soon became the focus of a huge comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
Happy Birthday to Rick Moranis, who lends his role in The Flintstones with John Goodman (Monsters, Inc., The Jungle Book 2, Bee Movie,), Elizabeth Perkins (Finding Nemo), Rosie O’ Donnell (Tarzan), Halle Berry (Catwoman, Robots) and Jonathan Winters (The Smurfs).
He also voices Rutt in Brother Bear with Dave Thomas, Joker’s Joaquin Phoenix, Jeremy Suarez (Zambezia), The Lion King’s Jason Raizie, D.B. Sweeney (Dinosaur), Michael Clarke Duncan (Kung Fu Panda, Green Lantern, Racing Stripes), Pamela Adlon (Recess), Joan Copeland, Caitlin Rose Anderson (Ice Age) and Estelle Harris (Toy Story).
