In the video He Died 15 Years Ago, Now His Family Confirms The Rumors, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a couple of fictional Canadian family members who were featured in “Great White North”, a improv which was included on SCTV – second city television for the show’s 3rd season when it aired by CBC Television in the 1980s. Bob’s part is performed by hilarious comedian Rick Moranis and the character Doug is brought to life by the comedian Dave Thomas. Although created originally as fluff to both follow guidelines and laugh about network Canadian content statutes, the siblings grew up to be a pop culture smash hit in both Canada and the United States. The McKenzie brothers later became the focus of a hit comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
