In the video Honey, I Shrunk the Kids – Taken Out With the Trash, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a pair of strange Canadian family members who are responsible for “Great White North”, a ad lib skit which was streamed on SCTV for the show’s 3rd season when it braodcast by the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the 80’s. Bob McKenzie is performed by the funny Rick Moranis and Doug is created by actor Dave Thomas. The bit was created originally as a joke to both please and laugh about network Canadian content policies, the brothers grew up to be a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and America. The characters soon became the focus of a bestselling comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.

Wacky inventor Wayne Szalinski (Rick Moranis) is very upset about the horrible day he’s been having. So he decides to take his anger out on his shrinking machine by smashing it to pieces because it’s not working the way he wants it to. Meanwhile, Wayne’s kids and his neighbor’s kids are shrunken down to the floor and while taking evasive action from the falling debris, they end up getting swept up by a broom and dust pan, taken out with the trash, and getting put in the backyard.

I like movies like this where there's shrinking involved. It's an interesting concept that would have its own pros and cons like time travel does.
