In the video Honey, I Shrunk The Kids, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of made up Canadian siblings who starred in “Great White North”, a sketch which was included on SCTV for the show’s third season when it was featured on CBC Television in . The character Bob McKenzie is played by Rick Moranis and Doug’s part is played by the comedian Dave Thomas. Regardless the fact it was made originally as a skit to both satisfy and make fun of annoying Canadian content rules, the pair became a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the States. The characters soon became the focus of a huge comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
Rick Moranis stars as a preoccupied inventor who just can’t seem to get his electro-magnetic shrinking machine to work. Then, when he accidentally shrinks his kids down to one-quarter-inch tall and tosses them out in the trash, the real adventure begins! Now the kids face incredible dangers as they try to make their way home through the jungle of their own backyard! Hurricane sprinklers! Dive-bombing bees! A runaway lawn mower and much, much more!
