Hosehead took a pretty hard landing there…..can't make movies like that anymore. Animal activist would be all over it. Koo loo coo coo, coo coo, coo coo!!
I remembering watching this as a kid. This was the scene I realized the people who made this film understand me, completely. Years later, I realized I was just an idiot. But Strange Brew is funny as fudge.
This is fkn great
This had me on the floor laughing as a kid eh
What kind of breakfast sandwich???
"all the beer is free!"
Ilea Ilievski
On the one hand, it's obviously a dog. On the other, they were all probably pretty wasted, eh.
Who were the 8 THUMBS DOWN from? Eight twisted fucks. That's who!
Only in Canada
Don't forget to make a right at Highway 6, eh
As a kid this was the greatest scene in the history of cinema.
Too bad turning Right onto highway 6 from the 401 would take him to Guelph, not Kitchener. They probably meant the 8…
I Love Hosehead! Hehehehehehe Cute little Skunk Dog.
I didn't see that coming.
Gotta love the old style Ontario plates. Everyone's driving a Chrysler product.
Check out that overhead shot. Toronto has really built up since this movie was made in 1983. Still plenty of open land at that time.
My friend amd iI used to kill ourselves at the way he addresses the cops at the beginning. "Maybe we can have some back bacon sandwiches, while we'ez waitin."
I remember the first time I watched this. I was with my dad, and right before the dog took off flying into the air, he turned to me and said, "Hey, watch this." I had never laughed so hard.
Did the brother in blue play the spoiled manchild in PeeWees great adventure?
I laughed until I cried when the dog flew into the air.
What's funny is how mild-mannered the dog is. All the extras go running, and here's Hosehead looking around wondering what all the excitement could be about.
1:23 is that Jan Lewan?
Hosehead's the best dog ever eh!?

This movie so old canadians knew what winning the stanley cup was like eh still a classic worthy of a few cold ones…
Hosehead: shit, I forgot to deploy the cape.
Holy moly, when Hosehead comes scorching through that tent.
The lesson as always you want a dog to do something get him all the beer and sausages he can eat.
The first time I saw this movie was around Christmas time, '85 I think … since then it has been one of my favorite Christmas movies. My kids are still confused.
Lol hosehead smiling !
Laughed my ass off the first time I saw Hosehead fly.
Hwy 401 to Highway 6 north leads to Guelph not Kitchener!
It's a Toronto skunk. Our jurisdiction.
I love it when his cape blows away & he looks back in it 🙂 1:54
Yeah, like a skunk can grow that big!
@DeviateEmcee: Sad times indeed if the state of English beer is as you say. I always considered the English to be the better brewers outside of continental Europe (the Belgian Trappists and the Czechs get my vote as the best brewmeisters for my humble tastes). American micro-breweries tend to over-hop their ales, there are small family-run breweries, there is Guiness Extra Stout, and there is everything else. And there is Guinness Extra Stout.
