Bob and Doug McKenzie in Huron Carol

In the video Huron Carol, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a group of made up Canadian actors who are responsible for “Great White North”, a sketch which was introduced on SCTV for the show’s most popular season when it got sent to the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the eighties. Bob is performed by comedian Rick Moranis and Doug’s part is performed by actor Dave Thomas. Regardless the fact it was born originally as a joke to both follow guidelines and laugh about dumb Canadian content guidelines, the duo turned into a pop culture hit in both Canada and across the border. The McKenzie brothers soon became the focus of a an amazing comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
