In the video I MISS MORANIS, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of made up Canadian siblings who created “Great White North”, a ad lib skit which was streamed on SCTV – second city television for the show’s 3rd season when it braodcast by the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the 1980s. Bob’s part is acted by Rick Moranis and Doug’s part is performed by Dave Thomas. The sketch was developed originally as fluff to both satisfy and mock legal Canadian content policies, the two morphed into a pop culture success in both Canada and the States. The characters later became the focus of a hit comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
