In the video [I Simpson] Bob & Doug McKenzie – Take Off (Sub Ita), Bob and Doug McKenzie are a couple of strange Canadian actors who can been seen in “Great White North”, a ad lib skit which was featured on second city television for the show’s 3rd season when it moved to the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the 80’s. Bob McKenzie is played by Rick Moranis and Doug’s part is played by the comedian Dave Thomas. Which was born originally as a sketch to both satisfy and makes jokes about stupid Canadian content laws, the two morphed into a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and across the border. The McKenzie brothers became the focus of a classic comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
