In the video I Was Too Mean to Rick Moranis, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a couple of strange Canadian family members who can been seen in “Great White North”, a ad lib skit which was broadcast on SCTV for the show’s most popular season when it was broadcast on the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in . The character Bob McKenzie is played by the funny Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie’s part is played by Dave Thomas. Despite made originally as a joke to both follow guidelines and laugh about non sensical Canadian content policies, the characters grew up to be a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and America. The McKenzie brothers soon became the focus of a classic comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
