In the video I wont crash this its a beer truck……, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a couple of strange Canadian comedians who starred in “Great White North”, a segment which was televised on SCTV for the show’s most liked season when it was broadcast on the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in in the early 80s. Bob McKenzie is brought to life by Rick Moranis and the character Doug is created by the comedian Dave Thomas. Although created originally as filler to both please and laugh about stupid Canadian content statutes, the characters turned into a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and America. The characters later became the focus of a bestselling comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.

  • I was 15 when Strange Brew came out. Literally (no exaggeration) the hardest I laughed at ANY movie ever. During the courtroom scene when Doug got the “bleedin nose,” I laughed so hard my mom came in the room and asked if I was ok. I’m now 54. Still holds up as my all time favorite movie. Every couple months I have to find some clips or watch the movie again- even tho I’ve seen it hundreds of times. Thanks
