In the video Ian Thomas and Dave Thomas appearance on TV Show Lifetime hosted by Peter Feniak, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of fictional Canadian brothers who were featured in “Great White North”, a segment which was shown on second city television for the show’s third season when it got sent to the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in in the early 80s. The character Bob McKenzie is brought to life by comic Rick Moranis and Doug’s character is acted by comic Dave Thomas. It was brought to life originally as fluff to both satisfy and make fun of dumb Canadian content demands, the two transformed into a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and across the border. The McKenzie siblings later became the focus of a huge comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
