Bob and Doug McKenzie in If Things Had Gone Our Way

In the video If Things Had Gone Our Way, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a group of imaginaryfunny Canadian actors who starred in “Great White North”, a segment which was introduced on SCTV for the show’s most popular season when it got sold to CBC Television in the year 1980. The character Bob McKenzie is performed by the funny Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie is performed by the comedian Dave Thomas. The bit was brought to life originally as a sketch to both please and mock silly Canadian content guidelines, the characters transformed into a pop culture smash hit in both Canada and across the border. The two soon became the focus of a classic comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
