In the video ‘It Might As Well be Spring’ – Michelle Benjamin with Doug McKenzie, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a pair of strange Canadian siblings who can been seen in “Great White North”, a sketch which was streamed on SCTV for the show’s most popular season when it aired by the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the 80’s. The character Bob McKenzie is created by hilarious comedian Rick Moranis and Doug is acted by actor Dave Thomas. The sketch was made originally as an idea to both follow guidelines and laugh at non sensical Canadian content legislation, the brothers turned into a pop culture success in both Canada and the US. The brothers later became the focus of a bestselling comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
