  1. ive been spending a shitload of money on cds bought up 10 thin lizzy now buying a bunch of ufo lol so addicting i love it.have around 1000 cds.have a pile of cassettes from back in the day gotta make shelves for them tho eh?lol

  2. Wow, never heard about most of those bands before but they look very interesting. Canada always had real good music like  Heart, Montrose or the Parlor Mob.  I´m  gonna have to check these bands out. 70s hard-rock always sounds awesome.  btw. very funny video LJ, I´m sort of hooked on your videos at the time. Really like the way you moderate your videos and the cool effects you use here and there (I just say red light). It´s the gread kind of video-presentation I´ll never be able to do I guess.

  3. OMG LJ ahahaha this is hilarious!!! Being from Canada, our steriotypes are just hilarious to watch. We do some of them but I wouldnt ever change any of them. Its who we are!!! Great stuff eh! Gotta go buddy, the leafs are playing soon. Hockey night in canada….  MOXY!

  4. Ha Ha! Love Ottavio – love the one where he is trying to warp the record, while humming some classical -tune-or-other. Nonchalantly!
My wife, Sara, passed by as I was belly-laughing and even she digged it. Before that, she didn't watch any VC videos but now she watches Ottavios and Jimmies too. And I thought "King of the Dot" (battle rapping channel) was the only vital thing to come out of Canada. Now I know there is a hell of a lot more!!!

  5. Heh heh heh, nice way to tip the hat to our Canadian neighbors, and Spud Boy in particular.  Weird, but muscially, Canada can sometimes be like a whole nuther world, eh?

  6. Nicely done! I don't think you broke character once.
Max Webster mother load, Ottavio's personal copy? WOW, Moxy, Autographed copy of who?, really cool CAN press 2112! (DoctorDeadWax won't agree it sounds better) Nice touch with the background and LOL the potato…
What a way to tip your glass to one classy guy in the VC: Ottavio!

  7. Good Day from the Great Frozen North, or as i like to describe it: the place where the people suck the sap out of the trees and the animals chop 'em down and build stuff. Great accent, yer clearly a half-hoser or been watching too many SCTV episodes! 🙂 BTW: Every Canadian over thirty has had a secret fantasy to host an episode of GWN. In fact, it's the 2nd most popular daydream to driving the Zamboni at the Stanley Cup Finals. Good show, eh! Excellent showcase of Canuck hard rock from the glory days in the 70s and early 80s. Congrats to your special guest Ottavio and some great additions to the collection!

  8. I'm not quite sure how to spell, "Koo roo koo koo, koo roo koo koo!" (Bob and Doug reference), but I'm yodeling it in your direction as I type this.  Lj, you sound JUST like us 🙂  Haha.  Send me your Canadian wish list and I'll keep my eyes open for you while I'm digging.  Great video!  Now, take off!

  9. Have you checked out Prism yet. More Canadian AOR, but still pretty good. Plus Jim Vallance, the band original drummer went on to cowrite songs for Kiss, Krokus, Motley Crue, and April Wine, just to name a few.

  10. Fun video. Kool package from Spud. Ive never heard of any of that stuff. learned something new. Natives from that direction say AAAAAAAAAAAAY. Extended out a bit when joking AY. Thanks for sharing—Colin

  11. "Case of beer heavy" LOL! Is that metric? ;). Dude, well done w/ the Canadian comedy…u know ur stuff, big bro. Max Webster! Sweet! I know Greeno showed one recently, they've been on the list for a bit. The fun part of trying to find Canadian tunes here in the cornfields lol. More Moxy! Ottavio is awesome! The joys and love here in the VC. Masterdisk 2112! Time to start hunting down those damn Masterdisk pressings. Nothing wrong w/ being rekkid nerds ;). That FM album is great! Got that on a blind buy a couple yrs ago and really dug it. Nothing better than a great Canadian spoof, a cold Bud and a 'beer heavy' package of VCLT! Keep those tunes spinning, big bro! Spring's just gotta be around the corner…'aye!

  12. Great topic! I could hear that back bacon sizzling in the background, I was on the edge of my seat waiting to hear Nickleback! ARRRGGG, Cowboy Junkies, Our Lady Peace, The Guess Who, Sloan, Buffie St. Marie WOW, Gordon Lightfoot, Voivoid, Simply Saucer (Jeff record man gave me a CD by them! ) A very timely video and tribute to the recent passing of Harold Ramis, without whom Second CIty would be so much less.

  13. Your wife needs to get you under control, clearly you are just running rampant in that basement. After watching this I feel the need to watch "Strange Brew".. a Canadian Cinematic Masterpiece. Haha! I kept waiting to see you grab a jelly filled doughnut and start chomping on it! Great package from Ottavio! You Canadian collection just got beefed up. Now take off eh!

  14. Oh eh this what it all aboot.  I feel soory for those Europe folks who watch the videeohs, yah kno they dunt kno mooch about Canaduh or hockee.  Eh there's a moose outside yah kno so I gots to goo now.  Wait, soory it was just a beaver, Kim Mitchell is grayte and stoof when it's cold, it's bean real cold this winter yah you kno it. Oh yah you cant leave your howse withoot wearing a toque.  Need to stock up on moar beer and donuts eh.

  15. You make a damn good Hoser Lj!!!.  Fantastic package from Ottavio, like you said, instant Max Webster collection.  Their 1st album remains my favourite.  If you haven't spun Toronto Tontos yet than you're in for one crazy little experience.  I love your enthusiasm for Canadian rock.  Believe it or not, Moxy is one band I have zero albums of. I remember their single from the 70's  "Take it or Leave it", 2nd album?? I'm not sure.  Maybe I should check them out.. Another great vid Lj!!!

  16. I love Max Webster. I have all the US equivalents of most of those records, the first LP was called "Hangover" here and it was on Mercury, I think the rest of the albums were on Capitol.

  17. Man I just got early 80's flashbacks, watching SCTV around midnight on cable tv …lol  Spudboy really hooked you up with some killer Canadian lps. Max Webster albums are hard to find. I've only found a few in the wild. That Rush masterdisc of 2112 looks epic. Gots to keep my eye out for those. And now FM is in the collection. Their first album is soooooo good !! It was killer to hear Take Off again in Geddy's way to high vocals !! Now I have to find my VHS copy of Strange Brew and relive the drunk 80's. Great job on this video bro !!
