  1. I remember when my grandmother died. She was living at my house for over a year. I woke up one morning, and i was getting ready for school. There were police and firefighters in my house. I had no idea what was happening, I just thought it was so cool that they were there. My parents made us get breakfast and take it upstairs and eat in my parent’s room. When I went to school, I told my friends that there were police and firefighters at my house, and one of my friends didn’t believe me. When my mom picked me and my sister up at the end of the day, she drove us home and when we were in the garage, my mom told us the news. Me, my mom, and my sister sat a cried in the garage. When we walked into the house, it was quiet. My grandmother usually would be watching game shows with her caretaker and it was normal for us to walk into the house with the shows on. That time, it was quiet. It was so different. I wish I could have said goodbye. My dad told us that, that morning, he had gone downstairs to her room to check on her and wake her up. He said when he saw her, it was as if her skin was grey, it was so pale.

    Rest in peace Grandma 2019
