In the video John Candy | Everybody’s Uncle Buck | A Docu-Mini, Bob and Doug McKenzie are two of hilarious Canadian family members who hosted “Great White North”, a segment which was aired on SCTV for the show’s most liked season when it got sold to the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in in the early 80s. Bob McKenzie is brought to life by the funny Rick Moranis and the character Doug is created by Dave Thomas. The sketch was born originally as filler to both follow guidelines and laugh about stupid Canadian content guidelines, the pair transformed into a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the States. The two became the focus of a huge comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.

John Candy. You have to be in classics to be remembered. All time comedies. “Blues Brothers”, Stripes”, and “Vacation”. He’s in all of those! Candy shines in all of those.

I feel for him, I lost my father at a young age and he was my best friend. John lost his father too and said he always felt like he was still that little biy his father left behind.
