In the video John Candy & Jimmy Buffett ~ Fishin’ Musician SCTV, Bob and Doug McKenzie are two of hysterical Canadian family members who are responsible for “Great White North”, a segment which was broadcast on SCTV for the show’s most watched season when it braodcast by CBC Television in the 1980s. Bob’s part is brought to life by actor Rick Moranis and Doug’s character is acted by actor Dave Thomas. It was made originally as a joke to both follow guidelines and mock non sensical Canadian content rules, the characters became a pop culture smash hit in both Canada and the USA. The pair later became the focus of a hit comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
