In the video John candy Mel Brooks Rick moranis Spaceballs, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a couple of strange Canadian family members who were featured in “Great White North”, a program which was aired on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most popular season when it braodcast by CBC Television in the year 1980. Bob’s part is acted by comedian Rick Moranis and Doug is brought to life by actor Dave Thomas. The sketch was brought to life originally as a skit to both satisfy and make fun of silly Canadian content demands, the duo transformed into a pop culture hit in both Canada and across the border. The pair soon became the focus of a bestselling comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
