Bob and Doug McKenzie in John Denver & The Muppets – 12 Days of Christmas

In the video John Denver & The Muppets – 12 Days of Christmas, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of odd Canadian actors who starred in “Great White North”, a sketch which was included on SCTV for the show’s most popular season when it streamed by CBC Television in the 80’s. The character Bob McKenzie is played by comedian Rick Moranis and Doug is brought to life by actor Dave Thomas. Despite made originally as fluff to both fulfill and makes jokes about legal Canadian content statutes, the siblings grew up to be a pop culture success in both Canada and the USA. The McKenzie siblings soon became the focus of a classic comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
