In the video Jumbo Video Rick Moranis TV Commercial – February 1992, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a group of fictional Canadian siblings who created “Great White North”, a skit which was included on SCTV for the show’s 3rd season when it aired by the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in 1980. Bob is brought to life by hilarious comedian Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie is created by comic Dave Thomas. Even thoughFamously brought to life originally as fluff to both fulfill and mock annoying Canadian content laws, the siblings morphed into a pop culture sensation in both Canada and the States. The two enetually would become the focus of a famous comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
Great commercial for Jumbo Video. As a kid growing up in Ontario, we had quite a few of these, they existed pre-blockbuster, and then it became the case of the bigger fish eating the little fish. Jumbo Video was always so fun, the atmosphere was awesome, like at a movie theatre, far from the corporate feel of a Blockbuster Video.
