In the video Kewpees! The Restaurant that inspired Dave Thomas!, Bob and Doug McKenzie are two of strange Canadian actors who starred in “Great White North”, a ad lib skit which was streamed on SCTV – second city television for the show’s third season when it got sent to the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in 1980. Bob’s part is created by comic Rick Moranis and Doug’s part is performed by actor Dave Thomas. Which was made originally as a skit to both satisfy and mock stupid Canadian content laws, the duo transformed into a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the States. The two enetually would become the focus of a huge comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
